The 5 Conferences Every Boston Marketer Should Attend At Least Once

We are heading into marketing conference season and lucky for you, we have been to some of the best the U.S. has to offer. Here are the top five marketing conferences you should be considering as a marketer (and two of them are right here in Boston!)

Content Marketing World: September 5 – 8 (Cleveland, OH)

Hosted in Cleveland by the Content Marketing Institute, #CMWorld offers over 4,000 marketers access to innovative topics like how and why to use live online video, how to spin stories into revenue, and why a bias towards technology can make us blind.

Sessions we wouldn’t want to miss: Storytelling with GE, How Brilliant Marketers Find and Follow What Makes Their Stories Different in a World Full of Average Content, and Creatives and an Unconventional Influencer Strategy That Works. Speakers of note include award-winning actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Pulitzer Prize winning author Colson Whitehead, and marketing executives from GE & Coca-Cola.

INBOUND 2017:  September 25 – 28 (Boston, MA)

Based here in our own backyard, INBOUND is one of the most epic marketing conferences in the world. Last year David Ortiz and Trevor Noah stopped by, and this year the keynotes are chock full of powerful women like researcher and best-selling author Brene Brown, Refinery 29 co-founder Piera Gelardi, and a certain former first lady of the United States!

Other honorable mentions include television host Andy Cohen, culinary giant Mario Batali, Billie Jean King, and Uber’s Chief Brand Officer Bozoma Saint John.

B2B Marketing Forum: October 3 – 6 (Boston, MA)

If you have ever seen B2B’s host Ann Handley in action, then you know why we are so excited about this conference (spoiler: last year she came to the stage fully robed leading an entire choir. Inspiring does not come close to describing that moment!)

Marketing is taking a comical slant this year with a keynote by famed comedian and branding expert Ron Tite.

If that isn’t enough to get you to the Westin Waterfront, other keynotes include the Team Captain of the First American Women’s Everest Expedition Alison Levine, and marketing executives from Lenovo, Citrix, United Way, and IBM.

SXSW: March 9 – 18 (Austin, TX)

Some of our Norbella team attended South by Southwest last year, and brought back takeaways on everything from the birth of the ad exchange, to the top 3 brand activations of the year.

An astounding mix of creatives in business, journalism, marketing, music, tech and beyond, SXSW is a platform beyond ordinary conference education providing unparalleled inspiration.

Their legendary speaker lineup includes entrepreneur Mark Cuban, Teen Vogue’s Editor-in-Chief Elaine Welteroth, The Atlantic National Correspondent Ta-Nehisi Coates, Academy Award winner Barry Jenkins, and Executive Producer of 60 Minutes Charlie Rose, just to name a few!

MozCon: July 9 – 11, 2018 (Seattle, WA)

The most tactical conference of the bunch, MozCon covers marketing and customer success alike with sessions on CRO, customer experience, and more!

Speakers include Stephanie Chang of Etsy, Jayna Grassel of DICK’s Sporting Goods, Krista Seiden of Google, and Purna Virji of Microsoft!

Be sure to bring extra business cards to the #MozCrawl while networking with your fellow marketers, and the Wednesday Night Bash is one event you won’t want to miss (especially if you love karaoke!)
